Membership
Any woman 18 years or older who can prove lineal, bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence is eligible to join the DAR. She must provide documentation for each statement of birth,
marriage, and death, as well as of the Revolutionary War service of her patriot ancestor. DAR volunteers throughout the state can assist you with your application. Contact our membership chair, and she will guide you to the next step to becoming a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. |

The National Society accepts service, with some exceptions, for the period between 19 April 1775 (Battle Lexington) and 26 November 1783 (withdrawal of British troops from New York) and reserves the right to determine the acceptability of all service and proof thereof. Below are are few examples of acceptable Revolutionary War service:
